Our Assessment of World Medical Hospital
World Medical Hospital is a reasonable choice for patients who want accredited orthopaedic, fertility or general specialist care in north Bangkok and Nonthaburi, away from the congestion of the city centre. Its owner, Bangkok Chain Hospital, lists it as one of the group's JCI-accredited hospitals and in January 2026 announced a consultancy project to prepare it for JCI re-accreditation, so the hospital is actively maintaining the standard. It has dedicated arthroplasty, spine and sports orthopaedic centres, promotes VELYS robotic-assisted knee replacement, and runs an on-site fertility centre offering IVF, ICSI, egg freezing and embryo chromosome screening.
There are trade-offs. The hospital is in Pak Kret, in the northern suburbs beyond the Bangkok city boundary, so it is less convenient for visitors staying in Sukhumvit or Silom. Its cancer service is mainly medical oncology: we found no radiotherapy on site, and PET/CT is listed as arranged under a hospital contract. The few prices it publishes are marked as prices for Thai nationals, it does not publish outcome data, and its insurance list is made up mostly of Thai insurers. JCI status rests on the hospital's and its parent group's statements, as we could not retrieve the JCI directory entry.
It suits expatriates living in the northern suburbs, around Chaengwattana, Muang Thong Thani and Nonthaburi, and visitors who want joint, spine or fertility treatment in an accredited private hospital. Patients needing complex cancer care with radiotherapy, or who want to stay in central Bangkok, may be better served elsewhere.

Accreditations, Verified
World Medical Hospital states that it is accredited by Joint Commission International, and its parent company, Bangkok Chain Hospital, names it among the group hospitals preparing for JCI re-accreditation in 2026. We could not retrieve the hospital's entry from the JCI online directory, so we have relied on the hospital's and the group's own published statements, which we have dated. We have listed only the accreditation we could confirm.
JCI Accredited
Joint Commission International. The hospital states that it is accredited by JCI, DNV GL reported in 2015 that it already held JCI accreditation, and in January 2026 its parent company, Bangkok Chain Hospital, named it among four group hospitals preparing for JCI re-accreditation. JCI is the leading global standard for hospital quality and patient safety. We were unable to independently retrieve a current listing from the JCI online directory, so the current award date rests on the hospital's and the group's own statements.

What World Medical Hospital Costs
World Medical Hospital publishes prices for only a few packages, and those it does publish are marked as prices for Thai nationals, so foreign patients should not assume the same rate applies. We have placed it in the mid range of Bangkok private hospitals as an editorial judgement. The prices below were taken from the hospital's own package pages on 12 October 2026. For surgery, fertility treatment and check-ups, the IMSC provides cost estimates on request, and we recommend asking for an itemised quote.

Common Questions About World Medical Hospital
What patients typically want to know before choosing this hospital
How We Evaluated World Medical Hospital
Our hospital profiles are independently researched by our editorial team. No hospital can pay to be listed here, ranked higher or reviewed favourably. For World Medical Hospital we verified only what the hospital and its parent company publish, with dated third-party references. Here is what we assessed. Our checks are desk-based, verified against the issuing bodies' registers and the hospital's own published materials rather than a hospital-arranged visit. Read the full methodology.
We confirmed each accreditation directly with the issuing bodies and against published records, rather than relying on marketing claims, so the badges you see are real.
We checked the qualifications of the clinicians who would treat you and the depth of the specialist teams, technology and inpatient support standing behind them.
We assessed whether there is a genuine international patient service — multilingual staff, visa help and structured coordination — rather than just a translated website.
We looked for documented care plans, follow-up scheduling and clear channels, so you can still reach your care team once you have flown home.
We evaluated whether estimates are itemised and given in writing upfront, covering treatment, stay and follow-up, rather than arriving as one opaque figure.
We reviewed patient reports across multiple independent sources, looking for consistent themes in satisfaction, complaints and treatment outcomes.
How we make money
Hospitals cannot pay for placement, ranking or a favourable review anywhere on this site. We earn a coordination fee from the hospital only when you choose to book through us, and it never changes your price. That conflict is why we publish our evaluation criteria and sources on every profile, and link accreditations to the issuing bodies.
If you believe any information on this profile is inaccurate or outdated, please contact our editorial team and we will check it against the source.
