Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to the questions we hear most from patients considering medical and surgical treatment in Thailand.

Getting Started

We are a patient coordination service that connects international patients with leading hospitals and specialists in Thailand. We match you with the right surgeon or specialist for your condition, gather transparent hospital pricing, and support you at every stage, from your first enquiry to your recovery back home.

Yes, our service is completely free to patients. Our partner hospitals pay us a coordination fee when they accept a patient we refer. The price you see is the hospital's own price, and we never add anything to your bill.

Send us a message by email, phone, or our enquiry form describing the procedure you are considering. We will discuss your situation, answer your questions, and begin building a personalised plan with surgeon options and real hospital pricing. There is no cost and no obligation.

It depends on your procedure and how quickly you can travel, but many patients move from first enquiry to treatment within a few weeks. Because Thailand has no long waiting lists, scheduling is usually limited only by your own availability and pre-operative preparation.

A referral is not required, but any existing diagnosis, medical records, or imaging is helpful. Sharing this information allows your Thai surgeon or specialist to assess your case more accurately and gives you a clearer plan before you travel.

Safety & Quality

Yes. Thailand is one of the world's most established medical tourism destinations, treating large numbers of international patients every year. Our partner hospitals hold international accreditation, and our surgeons are board-certified specialists with extensive experience.

Joint Commission International accreditation is a global benchmark for hospital safety and quality. A JCI-accredited hospital has been independently audited against the same standards used by leading medical centres worldwide, which gives you confidence in the care you receive.

The specialists we work with are board-certified in their fields, and many have trained or practised internationally. We provide each surgeon's credentials and relevant experience so you can review their background before deciding.

Your hospital has established protocols for managing complications, and care is provided by your surgical team. Should any issue arise after you return home, we help coordinate follow-up with your surgeon in Thailand and with your local doctor.

Costs & Payment

Most patients save between 50 and 80 percent compared to prices in the US, UK, or Australia, depending on the procedure. Thai hospitals charge less because their operating costs are lower, not because they cut corners on quality or safety.

A typical hospital quote covers the surgeon's fees, hospital stay, anaesthesia, and standard post-operative care for your procedure. We set out exactly what is and is not included before you commit, so you can compare quotes with confidence.

No. We believe in full transparency. Your quote reflects the hospital's own pricing, and we explain any costs that sit outside it, such as flights, accommodation, or optional extras, before you make any decisions.

You pay the hospital directly, usually around the time of admission. We help coordinate secure payment and provide a full cost breakdown in advance. We never ask you to pay us for our coordination service.

Yes. We provide written quotes with surgeon options, pricing, expected length of stay, and recovery details so you can review everything carefully. Requesting a quote places you under no obligation to proceed.

Medical & Surgical Procedures

We coordinate a wide range of medical and surgical care, from cardiac, orthopaedic, oncology, urology, neurosurgery, and digestive procedures to eye and vision care, fertility, wellness and longevity, and gender affirmation. If you are unsure whether your treatment is covered, simply ask and we will advise.

In many cases, yes. Combining procedures can be possible where it is medically appropriate and safe. Your surgeon or specialist will assess whether this is suitable for you and plan your treatment and recovery accordingly.

Yes. Many of our partner surgeons handle complex and revision cases. Sharing your full medical history and any records from previous procedures helps us match you with the most suitable specialist.

Absolutely. We provide surgeon credentials, areas of specialism, and relevant experience as part of your plan, and we can usually arrange a video consultation so you can speak with your surgeon before you travel.

Travel & Logistics

It varies by procedure. Minor procedures may require around 7 to 10 days, while major surgery such as cardiac or orthopaedic procedures typically needs 2 to 4 weeks to allow for adequate recovery before flying home. We confirm the recommended stay as part of your plan.

Many nationalities can enter Thailand without a visa for short stays, while longer treatment may require a medical visa. We advise you on the right option for your situation and can help prepare the supporting documents.

Yes. We help coordinate airport transfers, comfortable accommodation suited to recovery, and local transport, so the practical side of your trip is taken care of and you can focus on your treatment.

Of course. Many patients travel with a companion, and we can factor an extra traveller into your accommodation and logistics. Having someone with you can be a great source of support during recovery.

Before Your Treatment

Your surgeon reviews your medical history, examines you, confirms the planned procedure, and answers your questions. This consultation makes sure everyone is clear on the approach and that you are ready to proceed safely.

Most procedures require standard pre-operative tests such as blood work and relevant imaging. Bringing recent records from home can speed this up. Your surgeon will confirm exactly what is needed for your specific case.

Some medications, such as blood thinners, may need to be paused before surgery. Your surgeon will give you clear instructions based on your medical history. Never stop any prescribed medication without medical guidance.

For most surgery, stopping smoking well in advance is strongly recommended because it improves healing and reduces the risk of complications. Your surgeon will advise on the ideal timeframe for your procedure.

Recovery & Aftercare

You recover under the care of your surgical team, with regular check-ins. Thailand's comfortable accommodation, warm climate, and renowned hospitality make it a restful place to heal before you travel home.

Your surgeon advises when it is safe to fly, based on your procedure and recovery. Flying too soon after some surgery carries risks, so we plan your stay around a safe departure date rather than a fixed schedule.

We arrange remote video consultations with your Thai surgeon, provide written post-operative care plans, and help coordinate any ongoing follow-up with your local doctor, so you remain supported after you return.

Communication & Support

Yes. Our partner hospitals have international patient departments, and the surgeons, specialists, and coordinators you deal with speak English. We can also arrange a video consultation so you can talk things through before you travel.

Yes. You are assigned a dedicated patient coordinator who is your single point of contact from your first enquiry through to your aftercare, so you always know who to reach and never have to repeat your story.

Always. Your enquiry, medical records, and personal details are handled with full discretion and shared only with the hospitals and specialists directly involved in your care, and only with your consent.
