Expert medical and surgical care in Thailand

Medical Disclaimer

Last updated: May 2026

Please read this Medical Disclaimer carefully. It is an important part of your relationship with Thailand Care.

1. We Are Not a Medical Provider

Thailand Care is a patient-referral service operated by Thailand Care. We are not:

  • A hospital, clinic, surgery centre, or medical practice
  • A medical doctor, surgeon, nurse, dentist, or other licensed healthcare professional
  • A medical advisor, healthcare consultant, or telemedicine provider
  • A licensed insurer or insurance broker

We connect prospective patients with independent clinics and hospitals in Thailand. We do not deliver any form of healthcare.

2. No Medical Advice

All information on this website — including procedure overviews, recovery timelines, indicative pricing, descriptions of techniques, and any other content — is published for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not, and must not be relied upon as, medical advice, diagnosis, prescription, prognosis, or recommendation.

Specifically:

  • Nothing on this website is a substitute for professional medical evaluation
  • Nothing on this website should be used to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any medical condition
  • The information may not reflect the most current medical research, standards of care, or regulatory guidance in your country
  • Individual circumstances vary; what is described here may not apply to you

Always consult a qualified medical professional — including an independent doctor in your country of residence as well as the treating surgeon — before making any decision about a procedure, beginning or stopping a medication, or following any pre-operative or post-operative protocol.

3. No Doctor–Patient Relationship

Using this website, submitting an enquiry, or communicating with our team does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–patient, or any other clinical relationship between you and us. We do not assess, diagnose, or treat any patient. The clinical relationship is exclusively between you and the treating Provider.

4. Treatment Outcomes Vary

Medical and surgical outcomes depend on many factors that are unique to each patient, including age, anatomy, health history, lifestyle, the specific technique used, the surgeon's skill, post-operative care, and chance. No procedure carries a guarantee of any specific result.

Any "before and after" images, testimonials, recovery timelines, success rates, or example outcomes shown on this website:

  • Are individual experiences and not predictions of what you will achieve
  • May have been edited, retouched, or selected to illustrate a typical or favourable result
  • Do not constitute a representation, warranty, or contract regarding your treatment

Every surgical and non-surgical procedure carries risks, including but not limited to infection, bleeding, scarring, adverse reaction to anaesthesia, dissatisfaction with treatment outcome, the need for revision treatment, and in rare cases serious complications including death. You must discuss all material risks with the treating Provider before consenting to treatment.

5. Independent Providers

The clinics, hospitals, and surgeons we refer patients to are independent third parties. They are not employees, agents, partners, joint venturers, or representatives of Thailand Care or Thailand Care. Their qualifications, licences, accreditations, standards of care, and outcomes are their own responsibility.

While we take reasonable care in selecting Providers, we do not independently audit or verify every claim. You are responsible for satisfying yourself — through consultation, document checks, second opinions, and any other appropriate due diligence — that the Provider is suitable for your needs before consenting to treatment.

The contract for medical treatment, including any consent forms, surgical agreements, and financial arrangements, is directly between you and the Provider.

6. Medical Emergencies

This website and our service are not for emergency medical needs. Do not use our enquiry forms, chat, email, WhatsApp, or messaging to seek urgent care — none of these channels are monitored 24/7 and we are not a medical provider.

In your home country

If you are experiencing a medical emergency at home, immediately call your local emergency number — for example: 999 (UK), 911 (US/Canada), 112 (EU/EEA), 000 (Australia), 111 (NZ) — and go to the nearest emergency department.

While in Thailand

If you are travelling in Thailand and experience a medical emergency, call 1669 for the Thai national Emergency Medical Service (free public ambulance dispatch). Operators may not speak English in all areas, so where possible ask a hotel concierge, taxi driver, or English-speaking bystander to call on your behalf and describe the situation.

Other useful numbers in Thailand:

  • 1155 — Tourist Police hotline (English-speaking, 24/7)
  • 191 — General police
  • 199 — Fire and rescue
  • 1672 — Tourism Authority of Thailand contact centre (English-speaking, can help locate hospitals and translators)

If the situation allows, go directly to the Emergency Department of the closest major hospital rather than waiting for an ambulance — major hospitals in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, and other tourist centres typically have international-patient departments with English-speaking staff and faster admission for self-presenting patients than the public EMS system in some areas.

After a serious incident, also contact:

  • Your travel and medical insurance provider — most policies require notification before or immediately after admission for cover to apply
  • Your country's embassy or consulate in Bangkok — for help with paperwork, family contact, or repatriation arrangements if needed
  • The treating Provider you were already in contact with (if relevant) — they can often advise or help coordinate care, but are under no obligation to do so once your treatment with them has ended

We can help reconnect you with a Provider in non-urgent situations, but we cannot direct emergency care or override the judgement of treating clinicians on the ground.

7. Travel and Medical-Tourism Risks

Travelling internationally for medical treatment ("medical tourism") carries additional considerations that you should evaluate carefully with a qualified medical professional in your home country and the treating Provider, including:

  • Risks associated with long flights soon before or after surgery (e.g. deep-vein thrombosis)
  • Differences in surgical techniques, anaesthetic protocols, materials, devices, and aftercare standards between countries
  • Continuity of care, including follow-up appointments and management of complications once you have returned home
  • Language and communication considerations during consent, recovery, and aftercare
  • Differences in legal and regulatory recourse if something goes wrong

We provide information to help you understand these considerations but do not assess or advise on whether medical travel is suitable for your individual circumstances.

8. Aftercare and Complications Outside Thailand

If complications arise after you have returned home, your treating Provider's aftercare protocols apply (where they exist). Care provided by other clinicians in your home country is between you and those clinicians. We can help re-establish communication with the Provider but cannot direct or oversee care provided by anyone, anywhere.

9. Currency, Pricing, and Estimates

Procedure prices, package inclusions, and currency conversions shown on this website are indicative only and were obtained from Providers at the time of publication. They may be outdated, may not apply to your specific case, and are subject to change. The Provider's quote after consultation is the definitive price.

10. AI and Automated Content

Some content on this website may be drafted, summarised, or formatted with the assistance of automated tools, including artificial intelligence. All medical and procedural content is reviewed before publication. If you spot an inaccuracy, please let us know at team@thailandcare.com and we will investigate.
