Samitivej Sriracha Hospital opened in 1993 in the port town of Sriracha in Chonburi province, between Bangkok and Pattaya, and is part of the Samitivej group that also runs Samitivej Sukhumvit in Bangkok. It serves the large community of Japanese and other foreign workers in the Eastern Seaboard's industrial estates, with a Japanese hospital inside the building and an international department open around the clock. Behind that sits a general hospital of up to 234 beds with more than 20 specialist centres, from heart and digestive care to orthopaedics, neurology and emergency medicine.

Our Assessment of Samitivej Sriracha Hospital
Samitivej Sriracha is the obvious accredited private hospital for people living or working on the Eastern Seaboard, and a reasonable choice for visitors staying around Sriracha or north of Pattaya. It is part of the Samitivej group, it was reported in 2021 as the first hospital in Thailand's Eastern region to hold Joint Commission International accreditation, and it has been running since 1993. Its Japanese medical centre, Japanese and Chinese interpreters and 24-hour international department make it unusually well set up for foreign residents outside Bangkok, and it publishes prices for several screening programmes.
The trade-offs are scale and information. It is a mid-sized provincial hospital, so for the most complex care, such as transplants or specialist children's surgery, patients may be referred to the group's larger Bangkok hospitals. Its own website does not mention JCI at all, and we could not retrieve a current entry from the JCI online directory, so its accreditation rests on Samitivej's group statement and dated reports. The English site is thin, much of the detail is in Thai or Japanese, and the hospital does not publish treatment prices, outcome data or a list of direct-billing insurers.
It suits expatriates and their families on the Eastern Seaboard, Japanese patients who want care in their own language, and visitors in the Sriracha and Pattaya area who need a check-up or general specialist care. International patients travelling specifically for major surgery may prefer to compare it with the group's Bangkok hospitals.

Accreditations, Verified
Samitivej states that Joint Commission International has accredited its three main hospitals, Sukhumvit, Srinakarin and Sriracha, and Samitivej Sriracha was reported in 2021 as the first hospital in Thailand's Eastern region to hold JCI accreditation. We confirmed this through the group's own statement and dated published references, but we could not retrieve a current entry from the JCI online directory, and the hospital's own website does not mention JCI. We have listed only the accreditation we could confirm.
JCI Accredited
Joint Commission International. Samitivej states that JCI has accredited its three main hospitals, Sukhumvit, Srinakarin and Sriracha; a UK government list of JCI-accredited facilities in Thailand dated March 2016 records JCI hospital program accreditation for Samitivej Sriracha; and a July 2021 press report describes it as the first hospital in Thailand's Eastern region to achieve JCI accreditation. JCI is the leading global standard for hospital quality and patient safety. We were unable to independently retrieve a current listing from the JCI online directory, and the hospital's own website does not mention JCI, so the current award date rests on the Samitivej group's statements.

About Samitivej Sriracha Hospital
Samitivej Sriracha Hospital was founded in 1993 by a group of doctors and local business people and stands at 8 Soi Laem Ket, Chermchomphon Road, in Sriracha, Chonburi, about 110 km east of Bangkok and close to Laem Chabang port and Pattaya. How We Evaluated Samitivej Sriracha Hospital
Our hospital profiles are independently researched by our editorial team. No hospital can pay to be listed here, ranked higher or reviewed favourably. For Samitivej Sriracha Hospital we verified only what the hospital and the Samitivej group publish and what appears in dated reputable sources. Here is what we assessed. Our checks are desk-based, verified against the issuing bodies' registers and the hospital's own published materials rather than a hospital-arranged visit. Read the full methodology.
We confirmed each accreditation directly with the issuing bodies and against published records, rather than relying on marketing claims, so the badges you see are real.
We checked the qualifications of the clinicians who would treat you and the depth of the specialist teams, technology and inpatient support standing behind them.
We assessed whether there is a genuine international patient service — multilingual staff, visa help and structured coordination — rather than just a translated website.
We looked for documented care plans, follow-up scheduling and clear channels, so you can still reach your care team once you have flown home.
We evaluated whether estimates are itemised and given in writing upfront, covering treatment, stay and follow-up, rather than arriving as one opaque figure.
We reviewed patient reports across multiple independent sources, looking for consistent themes in satisfaction, complaints and treatment outcomes.
How we make money
Hospitals cannot pay for placement, ranking or a favourable review anywhere on this site. We earn a coordination fee from the hospital only when you choose to book through us, and it never changes your price. That conflict is why we publish our evaluation criteria and sources on every profile, and link accreditations to the issuing bodies.
If you believe any information on this profile is inaccurate or outdated, please contact our editorial team and we will check it against the source.
