Independently assessed by Bea Siriwat
Last reviewed 12 October 2026 · How we evaluate
Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin opened on 6 April 2011 as the 19th hospital in the Bangkok Hospital network and the first facility in western Thailand owned and managed by Bangkok Dusit Medical Services. It is a compact, five-storey hospital with 64 beds on Phetchakasem Road, a short drive from Hua Hin's beaches and resorts. For international visitors, its main draw is the Health Promotion Center, which offers check-up programmes tailored by age and gender, so a full health screening can fit into a few days by the sea.

Our Assessment of Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin
Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin is a mid-sized regional general hospital rather than a large referral centre. With 64 beds, including 12 intensive care beds, it holds Joint Commission International accreditation and the backing of BDMS, Thailand's largest private hospital group. For a planned health check-up, it is a credible and convenient option: the Health Promotion Center is on the ground floor, programmes are organised by age and gender, and the hospital publishes a starting price of ฿3,200 alongside add-on screening such as a CT calcium score, mammography with breast ultrasound and combined gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
The trade-off is depth. The hospital runs heart, bone and joint, GI and liver, and brain and neurovascular departments, but it is a fraction of the size of the flagship BDMS hospitals in Bangkok, and its English site does not publish procedure volumes or outcome data. Complex or high-acuity cases, such as major cardiac or cancer surgery, are likely to be better served in Bangkok, around three hours away by road. The hospital also does not itemise its check-up tiers online, so you will need to ask for the contents and price of each programme before booking.
It suits travellers, retirees and expatriates who want an accredited, group-backed hospital for a routine or executive-style health screening while staying in Hua Hin, and residents who need dependable general and specialist care locally. Anyone whose screening turns up a serious finding may want to compare treatment options at the larger hospitals in Bangkok before deciding.

Accreditations, Verified
Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin states that it is accredited by Joint Commission International, the most widely recognised international hospital standard. We verified this through the hospital's own accreditation page, which gives an effective date of 1 March 2024. We have listed only the accreditation we could confirm and have not added standards the hospital does not publish.
JCI Accredited
Joint Commission International. The hospital reports JCI accreditation effective 1 March 2024, covering Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin and its services but not its Market Village or Pak Nam Pran clinics. JCI is the leading global standard for hospital quality and patient safety. We were unable to independently retrieve a current listing from the JCI online directory, so this rests on the hospital's own published accreditation page.

About Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin
Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin was officially opened on 6 April 2011. The hospital describes itself as the 19th hospital in the Bangkok Hospital network and the first medical facility in western Thailand owned and managed by Bangkok Dusit Medical Services PLC (BDMS). It occupies a five-storey building on a 20,000 square metre site on Phetchakasem Road, with 64 patient beds, including 12 intensive care beds, a laboratory unit and 255 parking spaces.
The hospital's core departments cover internal medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, surgery, radiology, rehabilitation medicine and dentistry, supported by 24-hour emergency services with ground ambulances. Alongside these it runs a Heart Center, a Bones and Joints Department, a GI and Liver Department with an endoscopy clinic and laparoscopic surgery, and a Brain and Neurovascular Department with a stroke team. The radiology department lists tests including MRI and MRA of the brain, CT of the chest and abdomen, CT calcium score, coronary artery study, digital mammography, breast and abdominal ultrasound and bone densitometry.
Health screening is handled by the Health Promotion Center on the ground floor. It offers annual check-ups, general check-ups and screening for insurance applications, with packages customised by age group and gender. On the day, staff record your health and lifestyle details, help you choose a suitable programme, take basic measurements and blood samples, and you then meet a doctor for an examination and to discuss your laboratory results. The hospital asks patients to fast for 8 hours beforehand, with plain water allowed.
Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin also operates two satellite clinics, Bangkok Hua Hin Clinic Market Village and Bangkok Hua Hin Clinic Pak Nam Pran, which fall outside the scope of its JCI accreditation. As a regional private hospital, its standing rests on its accreditation, its group affiliation and its published services rather than on a long record of published outcomes.

Common Questions About Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin
What patients typically want to know before choosing this hospital
How We Evaluated Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin
Our hospital profiles are independently researched by our editorial team. No hospital can pay to be listed here, ranked higher or reviewed favourably. For Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin we were careful to verify only what the hospital publishes on its own site, including its check-up package prices. Here is what we assessed. Our checks are desk-based, verified against the issuing bodies' registers and the hospital's own published materials rather than a hospital-arranged visit. Read the full methodology.
We confirmed each accreditation directly with the issuing bodies and against published records, rather than relying on marketing claims, so the badges you see are real.
We checked the qualifications of the clinicians who would treat you and the depth of the specialist teams, technology and inpatient support standing behind them.
We assessed whether there is a genuine international patient service — multilingual staff, visa help and structured coordination — rather than just a translated website.
We looked for documented care plans, follow-up scheduling and clear channels, so you can still reach your care team once you have flown home.
We evaluated whether estimates are itemised and given in writing upfront, covering treatment, stay and follow-up, rather than arriving as one opaque figure.
We reviewed patient reports across multiple independent sources, looking for consistent themes in satisfaction, complaints and treatment outcomes.
How we make money
Hospitals cannot pay for placement, ranking or a favourable review anywhere on this site. We earn a coordination fee from the hospital only when you choose to book through us, and it never changes your price. That conflict is why we publish our evaluation criteria and sources on every profile, and link accreditations to the issuing bodies.
If you believe any information on this profile is inaccurate or outdated, please contact our editorial team and we will check it against the source.
