Bangkok Heart Hospital

Bangkok Heart Hospital grew out of the Bangkok Heart Center, a specialist unit inside Bangkok Hospital, and now runs as a separate cardiovascular hospital in its own building on the Bangkok Hospital Headquarters campus off New Petchburi Road. It treats only heart and blood vessel conditions, from screening and imaging to catheter procedures, minimally invasive and open heart surgery, rhythm treatment and life support with ECMO. Because it shares the campus with Bangkok Hospital, patients with other health problems can be referred across the site.

Our Assessment of Bangkok Heart Hospital

Independent verdict

Bangkok Heart Hospital is one of the few private hospitals in Thailand that does nothing but heart and blood vessel care, and that focus is its main appeal. It offers the full range of cardiac treatment in one building, from screening and imaging through catheter procedures, valve and bypass surgery and rhythm treatment, and it runs an ECMO life support and transport service that has twice been recognised by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization. It also publishes package prices for several heart procedures, which is unusual for complex surgery.

The main caveat is accreditation. The hospital states that it shares the Joint Commission International accreditation of the Bangkok Hospital Headquarters campus, held since 2007, rather than holding a separate award in its own name. The most recent JCI term the group publishes ran from February 2023 to February 2026, and we could not find a published renewal or reach the JCI directory to confirm the current term, so patients should ask the hospital for its current certificate. Like the rest of the campus, it is among the more expensive private options in Bangkok, and the outcome figures it publishes are its own and not independently audited.

It suits patients who already know they need cardiac investigation or treatment and want a specialist heart hospital with a large general hospital next door. Patients with a mix of health problems, or who want a general check-up rather than heart screening, may be better served by our separate profile of Bangkok Hospital Headquarters on the same campus.

Who Bangkok Heart Hospital Is Best For

In one sentence, Bangkok Heart Hospital is the right choice for heart surgery, catheter treatment and rhythm care who accept premium tier pricing. The lists below tell you whether that is you.

A strong fit if you

  • Patients who need heart investigation or treatment in a dedicated cardiac hospital
  • Valve, bypass and minimally invasive heart surgery with a published package price
  • Complex or high-risk cases that may need ECMO or other heart and lung support
  • Heart rhythm problems needing 3D mapping and catheter ablation

Look elsewhere if you

  • Patients looking for general medical care or a broad health check-up
  • Those who want an accreditation awarded in the hospital's own name
  • Patients choosing mainly on cost

Accreditations, Verified

Bangkok Heart Hospital states that it is covered by the Joint Commission International accreditation of the Bangkok Hospital Headquarters campus, held since 2007, and the campus holds a JCI certification for its acute coronary syndrome programme. The hospital also displays its own Thai Hospital Accreditation certificate. We could not reach the JCI online directory to confirm the current JCI term, and we have listed only what we could confirm.

JCI Accredited (Bangkok Hospital Headquarters campus)

Joint Commission International. Bangkok Heart Hospital states that it shares the JCI accreditation of the Bangkok Hospital Headquarters campus, held since 2007, rather than a separate award in its own name. The group publishes a sixth consecutive accreditation for Bangkok Hospital Headquarters for February 2023 to February 2026, and JCI programme certification for acute coronary syndrome for 2021 to 2027. We were unable to retrieve a listing from the JCI online directory or a published renewal after February 2026, so the current term rests on the hospital's own statements.

Advanced HA (Thailand)

Healthcare Accreditation Institute (Public Organization). The hospital displays its own Advanced HA certificate and reported a renewal of its Advanced HA status, presented at the 23rd National HA Forum. We could not locate its record in the Institute's online certificate register, so dates are not shown.

Specialties & Strengths

Bangkok Heart Hospital treats only heart and blood vessel conditions. The links below point to the closest matching procedure guides on our site.

What Bangkok Heart Hospital Costs

Bangkok Heart Hospital sits at the upper end of Bangkok's private hospital market, in line with the rest of the Bangkok Hospital Headquarters campus. Unusually for heart surgery, it publishes package prices for some procedures, which include the surgeon, anaesthetist, operating room, intensive care and a set room stay, but exclude tests before admission, extra days and other specialists. The prices below were taken from the hospital's own package pages on 12 October 2026 and were listed as valid until 31 October 2026. For other treatment, we recommend requesting an itemised quote.

Paying for treatment

Cards, transfers and cash. Major credit and debit cards, bank transfer and cash in Thai baht are accepted at almost every facility we profile, and many also take mobile wallets.
Deposits and insurance. A deposit is normally required before treatment, and larger hospitals can bill contracted international insurers directly once a guarantee letter is in place. Cosmetic and dental treatment is usually self funded.
Confirmed before you commit. Your personalised quote sets out the exact payment methods, deposit and any insurance arrangements for your chosen hospital.

Heart Hospital Contacts

The hospital takes enquiries on +66 2 310 3370 and +66 2 755 1371, on LINE (@hearthospital) and through its Heart Hotline, +66 80 191 9019. The group's international line is +66 2 310 3000, with WhatsApp on +66 64 140 5673.

Payment & Insurance

The hospital does not publish its own list of direct-billing insurers. We recommend confirming insurance cover and billing arrangements with the hospital before travelling.

If something goes wrong after you fly home

Bangkok Heart Hospital provides a post-operative care plan before you leave, and follow-up communication with your surgical team can be arranged through its international patient office.

As your coordinator we stay in the loop after you land. If a concern comes up we help you reach your surgeon, get records to a local doctor, and understand what the hospital will and will not cover. We tell you this before you book, not after.

How Booking Works at Bangkok Heart Hospital

  1. Contact the hospital on +66 2 310 3370, LINE (@hearthospital) or the Heart Hotline, +66 80 191 9019, with your medical records and the treatment you are considering.
  2. For surgery, ask for the package terms in writing, including the length of stay, what is included and what is charged separately.
  3. If you need a medical transfer from another hospital or from abroad, ask the hospital to arrange it through the Heart Rescue Network and the BDMS Medevac Center.

When you enquire through us, our care team handles these steps with the hospital on your behalf and confirms everything back to you before you commit to anything.

About Bangkok Heart Hospital

Bangkok Heart Hospital began as the Bangkok Heart Center, a specialist centre within Bangkok Hospital, and was later established as a separate hospital for heart and blood vessel disease. In 2026 the hospital described more than 21 years of service as a dedicated heart hospital. It is part of the Bangkok Hospital group, run by Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS), and stands on the Bangkok Hospital Headquarters campus at Soi Soonvijai 7, New Petchburi Road, alongside Bangkok Hospital, Wattanosoth Cancer Hospital and other group hospitals. It is a separate hospital from Bangkok Hospital Headquarters, with its own director, beds and Thai hospital accreditation certificate, but it shares the campus and the group's international patient services.

The hospital's English site lists 95 cardiovascular beds, about 400 outpatient visits a day, around 70 heart specialists and more than 200 nurses and support staff, and reports that foreign patients make up about 20 to 25 per cent of its patients. Its units include coronary care units, an intermediate cardiac care unit, 24-hour cardiac catheterisation and a hybrid operating room.

Services cover non-invasive heart testing and imaging, including 3 Tesla cardiac MRI, 256-slice coronary CT and 3D echocardiography; catheter treatment such as coronary angioplasty and stenting, TAVI and MitraClip valve repair; open and minimally invasive heart surgery, including endoscopic valve repair and minimally invasive bypass surgery; rhythm care with 3D mapping and ablation; cardiac rehabilitation; and a sport cardiology service with exercise and VO2 max testing. Its Heart Rescue Network links referring hospitals with the BDMS Medevac Center for 24-hour transfer of heart patients within Thailand and from abroad, and an ECMO transport team provides life support during transfer.

How We Evaluated Bangkok Heart Hospital

Our hospital profiles are independently researched by our editorial team. No hospital can pay to be listed here, ranked higher or reviewed favourably. For Bangkok Heart Hospital we focused on its heart services and on how its accreditation relates to the Bangkok Hospital Headquarters campus. Here is what we assessed. Our checks are desk-based, verified against the issuing bodies' registers and the hospital's own published materials rather than a hospital-arranged visit. Read the full methodology.

Accreditation & certification

We confirmed each accreditation directly with the issuing bodies and against published records, rather than relying on marketing claims, so the badges you see are real.

Clinical credentials & depth

We checked the qualifications of the clinicians who would treat you and the depth of the specialist teams, technology and inpatient support standing behind them.

International patient systems

We assessed whether there is a genuine international patient service — multilingual staff, visa help and structured coordination — rather than just a translated website.

Care coordination & follow-up

We looked for documented care plans, follow-up scheduling and clear channels, so you can still reach your care team once you have flown home.

Pricing transparency

We evaluated whether estimates are itemised and given in writing upfront, covering treatment, stay and follow-up, rather than arriving as one opaque figure.

Patient feedback patterns

We reviewed patient reports across multiple independent sources, looking for consistent themes in satisfaction, complaints and treatment outcomes.

How we make money

Hospitals cannot pay for placement, ranking or a favourable review anywhere on this site. We earn a coordination fee from the hospital only when you choose to book through us, and it never changes your price. That conflict is why we publish our evaluation criteria and sources on every profile, and link accreditations to the issuing bodies.
